Artillery building and fragment of the old ramparts behind this building: inscription by order of 28 October 1927
Origin and history
The Collioure Artillery Building is a 17th-century military building in the town of Collioure, in the Pyrénées-Orientales department. This monument is one of the remains of the ramparts that formed a defensive belt on the sea side, although few elements remain today.
The building and the fragments of the old ramparts behind it were inscribed as historical monuments by order of 28 October 1927. This official protection recognizes their heritage value and importance in local military history.
Located at the approximate address of 17 Boulevard du Boramar, the building today belongs to the town of Collioure. Its architecture reflects its past use, linked to the coastal defence and military organization of the area under the Ancien Régime.
