Croix de Carlahoux (non-cadastre; public domain): registration by order of 21 May 1937

Origin and history

La Croix de Carlahoux is located near the "Hotel Macé" on the road to Malansac, in the town of Caden, Morbihan. This monument, of modest size (about a metre in height), is distinguished by its rectangular base and rounded swellings at the armpits of the cross. At the intersection of his arms, a five-hole pierced circle symbolizes the five wounds of Christ, a remarkable architectural and religious detail.

The cross was listed as historic monuments on 21 May 1937, recognizing its heritage value. Today it belongs to the commune of Caden and is located in the public domain, near a historic place. Its current condition, including the reduction of foot height, suggests changes or wear over time.

Available sources, such as Wikipedia and Monumentum, highlight its architectural and religious interest, while noting an approximate location (estimated at 5/10). The cross is part of the landscape of Christian monuments in Brittany, typical of roads and crossroads, often linked to popular devotion or local landmarks.
