Origin and history
The Jordronnière is a monument located in Sigournais, in the department of Vendée (region Pays de la Loire), whose construction dates back to the 19th century. This place is particularly remarkable for its first floor bedroom, decorated with a panoramic wallpaper entitled "Les monuments de Paris", produced by the Manufacture Dufour. This wallpaper, whose original edition dates from 1812-1814, is an exceptional testimony of the decorative art of the Napoleonic era.
Only two copies of this wallpaper are listed in France, which gives La Jordronnière a major heritage value. The room and its decor were protected by a registration order under the Historical Monuments on 13 April 2005, thus highlighting their historical and artistic importance. The location of the monument, although known (5287 La Jordronnière, 85110 Sigournais), remains approximate according to available sources, with an accuracy assessed as "a priori satisfactory".
No information is provided on the opening of the site to the public, its current vocation (visits, rentals, guest rooms) or its detailed history beyond these architectural and decorative elements.
