Origin and history
Kermané Dolmen, also known as Roh-Vras-de-Pourhos, is a megalithic building located in the municipality of Saint-Philibert, Morbihan, Brittany. This partially restored corridor dolmen is located in a private property, between the hamlets of Kermané and Kerangoff. Its covering slab, supported by eight orthostats and a modern steel bar, measures about 4 × 3 meters. It was raised during the 20th century, while the original access corridor has now disappeared.
Ranked as historical monuments by order of 20 April 1927, this dolmen illustrates the collective funeral practices of Neolithic. At that time, local communities erected megalithic burials to honour their deceased, often in places chosen for symbolism or accessibility. These monuments also served as territorial markers and memorial sites for successive generations.
The precise location of the dolmen, between the hamlets of Kermané and Kerangoff, is documented by sources such as Monumentum and Wikipedia. Although located on private property, its ranking in 1927 attests to its heritage importance. The available data refer to a location accuracy considered "passable" (note 5/10), and its administrative address is associated with Insee code 56233, corresponding to the municipality of Saint-Philibert in Morbihan.
