Origin and history
Le dolmen du Bardon, also known as Pierre Chabrée, is a megalithic monument located in the commune of Coltines, in the department of Cantal, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. This dolmen is distinguished from other similar monuments of the region by its atypical location: it is indeed the only dolmen of the Cantal not to have been erected in an open place, but at the bottom of a valley. Its structure consists of two orthostats (dressed stones), a bedside slab and a cover table, characteristic of the megalithic constructions of the Neolithic.
The Dolmen du Bardon was listed as a historic monument on 11 February 1986, recognizing its heritage importance.
