The dolmens Kervilor – Er Rohec and their tumulus, shown in the cadastre of the municipality section AB parcel No. 133, represented on the plan attached to the decree: inscription by order of 24 July 2023
Origin and history
The dolmens of Mané-Kervilor, located in the municipality of La Trinité-sur-Mer in Morbihan (Bretagne), date from Neolithic. These three gallery dolmens, identified under cadastral references H 986 and H 987, illustrate the megalithic funeral architecture characteristic of this period. Their layout and structure reflect the cultural and religious practices of local prehistoric societies, dedicated to collective burial or the cult of ancestors.
The site was officially recognized and protected by a classification order under the Historic Monuments on 20 April 1927. This protection reflects the heritage importance of these remains, which offer valuable insights into the construction techniques and social organization of neolithic communities in Brittany. Their location, although documented (307 Le Penher, 56470 La Trinité-sur-Mer), remains "passible" according to current geographical location criteria.
No additional information is available on archaeological excavations, on-site objects, or possible restorations. The Dolmens of Mané-Kervilor are nevertheless part of a wider set of Breton megalithic sites, which are notable for their concentration and architectural diversity. Their presence attests to the ancient and sustainable human occupation of this coastal area, rich in natural resources and cultural exchanges.
