Origin and history
The domain of Aiguebelle is located in Lambesc, in the department of Bouches-du-Rhône, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. This site has been marked by registration and partial classification as historical monuments since 9 April 1979. Among the protected elements are the South Basin with the statue of Neptune, the entrance gate with its basins, as well as three fountains bordering the western alley.
These protections also concern the facades and roofs of the estate. In Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, estates like Aiguebelle were often places of residence or resort for wealthy families, while playing a role in the local agricultural and social organization. These properties reflected the taste for art, architecture and gardens, characteristic of the regional elites in modern and contemporary times.
Their preservation now allows us to understand the lifestyles and aesthetic aspirations of past populations.
