Origin and history

The Domaine de Banizette is a rural complex located in La Nouaille, in the Creuse department, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. This estate, representative of the large farms of the Limous region, dates from the 15th and 17th centuries. It consists of seven buildings organized around a rectangular courtyard, as well as related elements such as a garden, pavilions, a mill, a bridge and a well.

The seven main buildings, along with seven other elements of the estate (courtyard, garden, pavilions, mill bay, bridge and well), are included in the additional inventory of Historic Monuments. This inscription bears witness to the heritage importance of the site, which illustrates the architecture and organisation of farms of the modern era in Limousin.

The estate is also mentioned in architectural resources as the Merimée base, which reinforces its recognition as a French historical heritage. Its inscription among the historical monuments of the Creuse emphasizes its role in local and regional history, although the available sources do not specify events or specific characters related to its history.
