Origin and history
The estate of the former Houx seigneurial house, located in Parey-sous-Montfort in the Vosges, dates from the 4th quarter of the 18th century. It consists of a rectangular house, outbuildings and a dovecote. A foundation stone bears the date of 1786, confirming its construction at that time. The building houses a walled room, a rare architectural element in the department, highlighting its remarkable character.
The estate is partially protected under the Historic Monuments: the facades, roofs, panelling and fireplaces of the house, as well as the garden, were registered in 2003, while the dovecote was registered separately in 2006. These protections highlight its architectural and landscape heritage, typical of the seigneurial residences of the end of the Ancien Régime.
The precise location of the estate is attested at 43 rue du Gras in Parey-sous-Montfort, in a rural area of the Grand Est. Although the practical information on current visits or services is not detailed in the sources, its status as a Historic Monument makes it an important testimony to the local heritage of Lorraine.
