The Church of the Exaltation-de-la-Sainte-Croix de Seysses-Savès, located in Gers in Occitanie, is an emblematic building of local religious architecture. Built mainly in the 4th quarter of the 15th century and remodeled in the 19th century, it embodies the characteristic features of the churches of the Savès region: systematic use of flat brick, bell tower-wall integrated with the western facade, and three-sided bedside. These elements, combined with massive buttresses and bulb-shaped pinacles, highlight an adaptation to the local materials and know-how of the time.

The tower-wall, the dominant structure of the building, is supported by robust foothills and pierced by five bays housing the bells. At its base, a porch protected by an awning marks the main entrance. The interior reveals a square chapel on the south wall of the first span, decorated with paintings framing an altar today gone. These interior and exterior fittings reflect both liturgical needs and a sober aesthetic, typical of the small rural churches of Gascogne.

The church was inscribed in the Historical Monuments by order of 13 September 1984, thus recognizing its heritage value. Owned by the commune, it is part of an architectural landscape where brick, an economical and abundant material, has allowed a wide diffusion of this ecclesial model. Its state of conservation and its location (24 Route de Bragayrac) make it an accessible witness to the religious and constructive history of the region.

The characteristics of this church — such as the bell tower-wall or the gallery staircase at the southwest corner — met practical requirements: weather resistance, space optimization, and visibility of the place of worship in a rural territory. These architectural choices, repeated in the Savès, reflect a strong collective identity, in which the religious and the community mingle closely, especially around the bells, tools of social and spiritual rhythm.

The accuracy of its location (noted 7/10 in the Merimée base) and its official address (32130 Seysses-Savès) allow to consider visits, although the practical information (opening, services) is not detailed in the available sources. Its registration as a Historical Monument guarantees, however, the protection and presentation of this modest but representative heritage.
