Origin and history

Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption du Grand-Bornand Church is a Catholic religious building located in the Haute-Savoie department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. It is distinguished in particular by its bulb bell tower, built in 1875, which marks a significant architectural stage for the commune. The monument houses several remarkable elements, some of which are protected under the Historic Monuments.

Several valuable objects are preserved in this church, bearing witness to its rich heritage. Among them was an 18th-century painting by Notre-Dame du Rosaire, carved panels depicting biblical scenes, a 1767 bronze bell and wooden baptismal fonts of 1829. These elements illustrate the historical and religious significance of the building over the centuries.

The church is part of the cultural and religious landscape of Haute-Savoie, an area marked by a strong Catholic tradition. It is attached to the diocese of Annecy and is one of the emblematic monuments of the commune of Grand-Bornand, attracting both the faithful and visitors interested in the local heritage.

External resources, such as the databases of the bell towers of France or the Observatoire du Patrimoine Religiouse, allow to deepen the knowledge about this building. These references highlight its role in preserving Savoy's architectural and spiritual heritage.
