Origin and history

Notre-Dame de Notre-Dame-de-Bliquetuit Church is a Catholic building located in the Seine-Maritime department in Normandy. Although some sources refer to an origin dating back to the 11th century, its present structure revolves mainly around the 13th, 14th and 16th centuries. The bell tower, dated from the 12th century, and the choir rebuilt in the 14th century testify to its architectural evolution. The building, built of stone, preserves remarkable remains such as opus spicatum walls and 12th century baptismal fonts, reflecting its medieval heritage.

Classified as historical monuments by order of 3 February 1923, the church today belongs to the commune of Notre-Dame-de-Bliquetuit. Its history is part of that of the region, marked by a strong religious tradition and ecclesiastical architecture typical of Normandy. The successive transformations, especially in the 16th century, illustrate the stylistic and functional adaptations of the building over time.

Available sources, including Wikipedia and the Merimée base, highlight its heritage importance. The church is located precisely at 173 Rue du Petit Village, in a rural setting characteristic of Haute-Normandie. Its ranking in 1923 attests to its historical and architectural value, while guaranteeing its preservation for future generations. No information is available on any key characters related to its construction or history.
