The church: by decree of 13 August 1921

Origin and history

The church of Chiry-Ourscamp is a religious building located in the municipality of the same name, in the department of Oise (60), in the Hauts-de-France region. Classified as a Historical Monument by decree of 13 August 1921, it is now communal property. Its exact address, 19 Rue de l'Eglise, allows to locate it with an accuracy deemed satisfactory a priori (level 6/10).

In the historical context of Hauts-de-France, medieval and post-medieval churches played a central role in the lives of rural communities. They served not only as a place of worship, but also as a gathering point for collective decisions, local festivals and important social events. In Chiry-Ourscamp, as in many municipalities in Picardie, these buildings often reflected the importance of the Christian faith in daily organization, while embodying the architectural know-how of past times.
