Origin and history
The church of Saint-Christophe, located in Aubepierre-Ozouer-le-Repos in Seine-et-Marne, is a religious building whose oldest parts date back to the 12th century. Its structural porch, typical of this period, bears witness to its medieval origin. The church is framed by Saint-Christophe Street and the departmental road 227, forming a central space in the village. Its main access from Saint-Christophe Street reflects its integration into the historic urban fabric.
Subsequent additions, such as the 17th century baptismal fonts and the 19th century closed benches, illustrate its architectural and liturgical evolution over the centuries. The building was listed as historic monuments by order of 10 July 1987, recognizing its heritage value. The church property belongs to the commune, stressing its continuing role in local life.
The church structure thus combines medieval elements (XIIth–XIIIth centuries) and modifications of the 15th–XVIth centuries, a pivotal period between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. His furniture, although partially renewed, preserves traces of his uninterrupted religious use for nearly nine centuries. The available sources (Wikipedia, Monumentum) confirm its status as a historical and architectural landmark in Île-de-France.
