Origin and history

The church of Saint-Étienne de Villerouge-Termenès is a religious building located in the village of the same name, in the department of Aude in Occitanie region. Built between the 13th and 14th centuries, it is distinguished by its sober architecture: a single nave vaulted in an acute cradle, reinforced by two doubles, and a slightly posterior square bedside choir. Its three-gable roof, decorated with crows and gargoyles, as well as its Renaissance-style altarpiece, testify to the stylistic evolutions of the late medieval era.
