Origin and history

Saint-Martin-des-Gaules Church is a Roman Catholic chapel located in Noisy-le-Grand, Rue Jules-Ferry. It is dedicated to Saint Martin, Apostle of the Gauls, and welcomes the tridentine form of the Roman rite. Its history is marked by an atypical reconstruction: originally built around 1860 in Fiol (Deux-Sèvres), it was dismantled in 1992 because of its state of disrepair, and then bought by a merchant of ancient materials from Châtellerault.

In 1994, the Catholic Noise Association for the Continuity of the rite in the Church (ANCRE) acquired 220 tons of numbered stones to rebuild it in Noisy-le-Grand. Each element is carefully assembled, preserving its original architecture, including a bell tower wall and ornamental patterns. The consecration took place on 11 November 1997 by Bishop Bernard Fellay, superior of the Priestly Fraternity Saint-Pie-X (FSSPX), despite local opposition.

Since 2009, the church community has participated annually in the procession of the Fête-Dieu in the streets of Noisy-le-Grand, marking its presence in local religious life. The building symbolizes both a preserved architectural heritage and a traditional liturgical practice, rooted in the cultural landscape of the Seine-Saint-Denis.
