Origin and history
The church of Saint-Nicolas de Beaumont-le-Roger is a Catholic religious building located in the municipality of the same name, in the department of Eure, Normandy. Built between the 13th and 15th centuries, it embodies the medieval religious architecture of this region. Its style reflects the artistic and technical evolutions of this period, mixing Gothic and local influences.
Ranked under the title of historical monuments by order of 25 August 1909, the church of Saint-Nicolas retained an active cult function. Every Sunday morning, she hosts a mass presided over by Father Jean-Serge Massamba, successor of Father Guy Touchard. This place of worship depends on the parish of the Trinity-sur-Risle, integrated into the diocese of Evreux.
The protection of the building in 1909 underscores its heritage and architectural importance. Owned by Beaumont-le-Roger, the church is referenced in the Mérimée base under the code Insee 27051. Its official address, 16 Place de l'Église, makes it a central point of the village, as evidenced by its role in local religious and community life.
Available sources, including Wikipedia and Monumentum, confirm its historic status and precise location. The building is also listed in specialized databases such as GCatholic.org and the Observatory of Religious Heritage, which attests to its architectural and religious interest.
