Origin and history

Saint Peter's Church in Saint-Manvieu-Bocage is a 15th-century Catholic religious building. Located in the village of Saint-Manvieu-Bocage, it is now part of the new town of Noues de Siena, in the Calvados department, in Normandy. Its architecture and furniture, including a classified Virgin with Child, testify to its historical and cultural importance.

The church was listed as the Historic Monuments on 19 September 1928. This classification protects the building as a whole, highlighting its heritage value. Among the remarkable elements, a statue of Virgin with Child, dating from the first half of the 15th century, is classified as an object, reinforcing the artistic interest of the place.

Available sources, such as the Monumental Statistics of Calvados d'Arcisse de Caumont (1857), briefly mention the church, confirming its seniority and its anchoring in the local landscape. Today, the building belongs to the municipality and remains an emblematic place of Norman heritage, although the details of its specific history and possible transformations remain limited in the documents consulted.
