Origin and history

Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul de Gourin is a Catholic church in the Morbihan department of Brittany. It is distinguished by its 16th century architecture, marked by a Breton Renaissance style. The monument consists of three naves, a polygonal bedside, and side windows adorned with sprockets. Its bell tower, treated in a Breton Renaissance style, is characterized by balconies and domed domes, offering remarkable architectural elegance.

The church is surrounded by a parish enclosure of a cemetery, a chapel dedicated to Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, a Pietà, and an ossuary. These elements illustrate the historical and religious significance of the site in the community life of Gourin. The complex was listed as historic monuments on April 24, 1925, highlighting its heritage value.

The precise location of the church is the Church's square in Gurin, Morbihan, with an Insee code 56066. The building, owned by the municipality, is a typical example of the Breton Renaissance religious architecture, reflecting both local influences and stylistic developments of the time.
