Origin and history
The church Saint-Pierre-Saint-Paul de Cravant is a Catholic building located in the department of Yonne, Burgundy-Franche-Comté. Its central ship dates back to the 13th century, while its sides, bell tower (1551) and chapels (1555-1598) date mainly from the 16th century. The vault of the nave, completed in 1611, completes this architectural ensemble marked by a carved decoration and a painted allegory of the Eucharist.
The monument was classified as historic monuments by order of 11 August 1906, thereby recognizing its heritage value. The Palissy database lists 38 movable objects inventoried in the building, bearing witness to its rich artistic and liturgical heritage. Owned by the municipality of Cravant, the church remains a place of worship and a major architectural vestige of the region.
Available sources, including Wikipedia and Monumentum, highlight the diversity of construction periods, combining late Gothic and Renaissance styles. The exact address, 13 Rue de l'Église à Deux Rivières (89460), confirms its territorial anchor in a landscape marked by Burgundy religious history.
