Origin and history

Saint-Victor du Plessis-Placy Church is a Catholic parish church located in the Seine-et-Marne department of Île-de-France. Built from the 13th century, it is distinguished by its location away from the town of Plessis-Placy. The building, dedicated to Saint Victor, was inscribed at the Historic Monuments in 1986, recognizing its heritage and architectural importance.

The church has several remarkable elements, including a tombstone classified since 1977. This engraved slab represents Vincent, parish priest in the 16th and 17th centuries. Other treasures include a sculpted plaster altarpiece dating from 1707, illustrating the martyrdom of St. Victor, as well as a 16th century circular window depicting St.Barbe and its tower, both classified since 1908.

The furniture and works of art of the church Saint-Victor bear witness to its rich religious and cultural past. These protected and classified elements offer an overview of the art and religious practices of medieval and modern times. The church remains an active place of worship while being an accessible historical monument to the public, managed by the municipality of Plessis-Placy.
