Origin and history

The Roman sewer of Lyon is an architectural vestige located in the 5th arrondissement of the city, dating from the ancient period. This monument illustrates the wastewater management techniques developed by the Romans at Lugdunum, then the capital of Gauls. Its route follows partly the current Roger-Radisson street and the Place de Fourvière, central areas of ancient Lyon.
