The former Voirein-Marinoni plant, 2 rue Ambroise-Croizat, including railway lines, with the exception of the modern parts dating from 1971 to 1990, shown in the cadastre section AM, plots 49 to 51, as delimited on the plan annexed to the decree: inscription by order of 23 January 2020

Origin and history

The Voirein-Marinoni factory, located in Montataire, Oise, France, is an architectural and industrial testimony of the local past. The site, located at 2 rue Ambroise-Croizat, was partially preserved, excluding modern extensions made between 1971 and 1990. Its inscription as Historic Monument by decree of 23 January 2020 covers the original buildings as well as the associated railway lines, stressing its heritage importance in the industrial landscape of historical Picardie.

The location of the factory, now owned by a public inter-municipal cooperation institution, reflects the urbanization linked to the manufacturing activity of the territory. The cadastral plots (section AM, numbers 49 to 51) and the approximate address (40 avenue Ambroise-Croizat) illustrate its anchoring in the urban fabric of Montataire. Although the available sources (Monumentum, Merimée base) do not specify its exact period of construction or its initial activity, its recent classification highlights an often unknown heritage of the former industrial areas of Oise.

The Hauts-de-France, a region marked by a rich industrial past since the 19th century, houses many similar sites, symbols of the past local economy. The factories, like the one in Voirin-Marinoni, played a central role in the employment and social structure of cities, often organized around these productive poles. Their preservation makes it possible today to understand the economic and urban dynamics that have shaped municipalities like Montataire, while offering opportunities for rehabilitation for contemporary uses (visits, cultural events).
