The Gallo-Roman building known as the Basilica of Boutae, located in Annecy, is a monument dated to the second century, Gallo-Roman period. Although its name evokes a basilica, its exact use remains uncertain, but its classification as a Historic Monument in 1980 underscores its heritage importance. The preserved remains, partially protected, offer a rare testimony of the civil or religious architecture of that time in the Alpine region.

The location of this monument, near Boulevard de la Rocade and Avenue du Stade, reflects an ancient strategic occupation, probably linked to the Roman way through the Haute-Savoie. In Gallo-Roman times, such buildings often served as places of assembly, commerce or worship, playing a central role in the social and political organization of the cities. Their presence attested to the integration of local populations into the Roman Empire, marking cultural and architectural syncretism.

Ranked by ministerial order on 19 March 1980, the site includes a portion of the original building, identified under Cadastral reference EL 23. Available sources, such as the Merimée and Monumentum base, confirm its protected status, although the details of its current state of conservation or accessibility remain limited. The accuracy of its location is considered "passible" (note 5/10), indicating minor geographical uncertainties.
