Facade and cover: registration by decree of 23 January 1945
Origin and history
The building located at 19 rue Jeanne-d This regulation has imposed uniformity in the heights of cornice and in the levels of the floor bands, while leaving open the diversity of facades. The objective was to create a visual harmony highlighting the nearby cathedral, around which this emblematic street is articulated.
Jeanne d'Arc Street, bordered by houses built according to these strict rules, illustrates an urban desire for aesthetic planning. Each facade, although stylistically distinct, respects a common scale, strengthening the unity of the architectural landscape. This ordinance reflects a period when municipalities were actively involved in the composition of public spaces, combining technical rigour and heritage ambition.
The building was partially protected by a decree of 23 January 1945, which inscribed its façade and cover as the Historical Monuments. This official recognition underlines its role in the Orléan built heritage, as well as the historic value of this street, inseparable from the city's identity. The location, specified as "passable" (note 5/10), remains focused on the official address, unambiguously despite the absence of perfect GPS coordinates.
