Facades and roofs (cad. 1425p): inscription by decree of 11 October 1929
Origin and history
The Gerlier stable is a medieval building located in the village of Peruges, in the department of Ain. Dating from the 15th century, this building illustrates the rural architecture of the period, dedicated to the breeding and maintenance of horses. Its designation as historic monuments in 1929 underscores its heritage importance, particularly for its facades and roofs, protected by ministerial decree.
Peruges, emblematic village of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, was at this time a place marked by an agricultural and artisanal economy. The stables, like Gerlier's, played a central role in daily life, serving both as a place of work and as a support for local activities. Their preservation now allows us to understand the practices and social organization of the rural communities of the late Middle Ages.
Available sources, such as Wikipedia and Monumentum, confirm the Gerlier stable's registration as a Historic Monument. Protected elements include facades and roofs, identified in the cadastre under reference 1425p. The building is located precisely at 5254 Rue du Tambour, although the accuracy of this location is considered mediocre (level 5/10).
