Origin and history
Estissac Hall is a historic building located in the commune of Estissac, in the Aube department, in the Grand Est region. Built during the 4th quarter of the 17th century, this hall represents a typical example of civil architecture of this time, often used to house markets and public gatherings in villages. The halls played a central role in the community life of French villages in the 17th century.
They served as a place of commerce, exchanges and meetings, reflecting the social and economic organization of local people. In the context of Champagne-Ardenne, a region with a strong agricultural tradition, these spaces were essential for the sale of local products and the maintenance of social ties.
