Origin and history
Saint-Antoine-et-Saint-Thibaud Church, located in Hautot-sur-Seine, Seine-Maritime, is a religious building built in the 16th century to replace an earlier Romanesque building. Work was carried out there in the 17th and 18th centuries, marking its architectural evolution. The church, originally a royal property, became a national property during the French Revolution before being ceded to the commune in 1862.
Classified as historical monuments on March 4, 1935, this stone church preserves copies of two major works by Raphael. Its history reflects the political and religious transformations of Normandy, including its transition from royal ownership to communal heritage.
The building, now owned by the commune, is located on Rue Saint-Antonin, near Place Poullard. Its architecture and furniture, including Raphael's inspired canvases, bear witness to the cultural and spiritual importance of this place throughout the centuries. The accuracy of its location is considered very satisfactory, facilitating its access to visitors.
