Origin and history
Hotel Astier de Montfaucon is an emblematic monument located in the village of Ménerbes, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Built in the second half of the 17th century, it illustrates the civil architectural style of this period, marked by a transition between classical influences and regional specificities. In the 17th century, Provencal villages like Ménerbes were often organized around aristocratic or bourgeois residences, such as this mansion.
These buildings served not only as housing for wealthy families, but also as symbols of power and prestige within the local community. Their architecture reflected the tastes and means of their owners, while integrating into the existing urban landscape.
