Origin and history
The Hotel, located at the bottom of the garden at 6 rue du Val-de-Grâce in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, is an emblematic 19th century building. This monument, classified among the Historical Monuments, is distinguished by its architecture and history related to the arts. Its facade on garden, roof, and some indoor lounges and fireplaces were protected by ministerial decree in 1972, highlighting their heritage value.
One of the highlights of this mansion is its association with the painter Alfons Mucha, whose workshop was located there. This place played a role in the artistic life of Paris in the 19th century, during which time Paris was a major cultural home in Europe. The entire garden, as well as interior decorative marble elements, testify to the architectural refinement of the period.
The location of the hotel, in the Val-de-Grâce district, is characterized by a geographical precision deemed "passable" (note 5/10 depending on the sources). Although the practical information on current visits or uses is not detailed, its status as a Historic Monument makes it a site of heritage and cultural interest for the city of Paris.
