Origin and history
The Auterive Hotel is a private hotel located at 3 rue de Beaune, in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. Built in the 18th century, this monument illustrates the aristocratic residential architecture of the period, typical of the central districts of the capital. Its street façade, including the vantals of the door, was inscribed as historic monuments by order of 25 October 1958, highlighting its heritage and aesthetic interest.
Between 1810 and 1813, the hotel welcomed the Danish painter Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg, a major figure of the golden age of Danish painting. This Parisian stay marked a formative period for the artist, then in full exploration of European artistic currents. Today, the building belongs to a private company and retains historical value linked to its architecture and cultural past.
The location of the Hôtel d'Auterive in a central district of Paris reflects its nobiliary origin and its integration into the Haussmannian urban fabric. Although partially protected, the monument remains a discreet but significant testimony of the Parisian heritage, between aristocratic heritage and transnational artistic history.
