Origin and history

The Hotel d'Escouloubre, located in Agen, was built in 1773 by architect Leroy for the Pelissier brothers. This monument illustrates the Louis XVI style, with a courtyard closed by a pilaster gate and brick commons with blind arcades. The courtyard façade features a central, rounded door pavilion, while the upper floor features a carved window and a baluster balcony characteristic of the era.

The larger facade on the garden includes a central pavilion with window doors and a wrought iron balcony. The side flags, slightly in retreat, are highlighted by embossed pilasters. The interior keeps a staircase and its wrought iron ramp, elements protected by a 1951 order. The ensemble reflects the elegance of 18th century private hotels.

The exact address, 8 Montesquieu Street, and its Insee code (47001) confirm its anchoring in the Lot-et-Garonne, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Although listed as a Historic Monument, information on its current access (visits, rentals) is not specified in the available sources. The approximate GPS location and the precision note (5/10) suggest an identification to be refined.
