Origin and history

The hotel of Cébié is a private hotel built in the middle of the eighteenth century in Aurillac, in the department of Cantal, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Ordered by the Cébié family, from the nobility of local dress, this monument illustrates the refined civil architecture of the period, with remarkably preserved interiors, including woodwork, fireplaces and original parquet floors.

Over the centuries, the property has changed hands, successively belonging to Baron Perret, mayor of Aurillac, and then to the family of Consul Roger Ducos. These transmissions reflect its importance in the social and political history of the city. The hotel, located at 12 rue Vermenouze (or 10 according to sources), was listed as a historical monument on 29 December 2004, thus protecting the entire building, including its interior decorations.

The protection covers emblematic spaces such as the stairwell, the Louis XV and Directoire lounges, or a room with a Versailles parquet floor. These elements bear witness to the splendour and craftsmanship of the eighteenth century. Although information about its current access (visits, rentals) is missing from the sources, its status as a historical monument makes it a major heritage of Aurillac and Cantal.
