Origin and history

The Cintré hotel is a private hotel located in the centre of Rennes, at 2 rue Saint-Guillaume, close to Saint-Pierre Cathedral. This monument illustrates 18th century civil architecture, during which time it was rebuilt. Its location in the historic district of the city reflects the importance of aristocratic or bourgeois residences in the Rennes urban landscape at that time.

The hotel has been included in the inventory of historic monuments since 4 July 1942, recognizing its heritage value. This official protection aims to preserve its architecture and history, characteristic of the private hotels of the region. Today, the first floor welcomes contemporary creators, mixing historical heritage and cultural dynamism.

Since September 1, 2012, there have been four young professionals: architects Jean-Charles Robert and Tony Leporcher, as well as designer Vidame Créations. This recent occupation reflects a modern re-appropriation of historic spaces, while respecting their integrity. The hotel of Cintré remains a living place, anchored in its time while perpetuating its architectural heritage.
