Origin and history

The Hôtel de l'Ouvre du Bouillon, located in Arles in the Bouches-du-Rhône department, is a monument whose construction spans three centuries: the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth. Its architecture reflects these successive periods, with characteristic elements of each era, including facades and roofs on street and courtyard, as well as a staircase and its decorated cage. These architectural details bear witness to the evolution of the styles and techniques of construction in Provence-Alpes-Côte d的Azur, region to which Arles belongs.

The monument is partially protected under Historic Monuments. A decree of 10 March 1987 inscribed the building, with the exception of the classified parts, while a second decree, dated 14 December 1992, classified the facades, roofs, stairways with its decoration, and a monumental gypsum fireplace on the first floor. These protections highlight the heritage value of the building, both for its architecture and for its remarkable interior elements, such as gypserie, typical of Provencal decorative art.

The Hotel de l'Ouvre du Bouillon is now owned by a private company. Although its current use (visits, room rental, guest rooms) is not specified in the available sources, its location in the city centre of Arles, at 6 rue Elie-Giraud, makes it an important part of the urban heritage. The accuracy of its location is estimated as "passible" (note 5/10), which may indicate minor uncertainties about its exact location in the geographic databases.

Available sources, including the Merimée and Monumentum database, provide administrative and descriptive information, but little detail on its specific history or former occupants. The lack of data on its original use or sponsors limits the understanding of its role in local history. However, its ranking among the Historic Monuments attests to its importance in the built heritage of Arles and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.
