Origin and history
The Hotel de Mailly-Château-Renaud is a historic monument located in Dole, in the Jura department (39), in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region. Built mainly in the sixteenth and first quarter of the eighteenth century, it illustrates the civil architecture of these periods, combining Renaissance elements and classical influences. The building is distinguished by its facades, roofs, as well as remarkable interior elements such as a screw staircase, a wrought iron ramp, and decorated panelling.
The official protections concern several parts of the building: the facades and roofs, the interior staircase with its wrought iron ramp, a spiral staircase, as well as the large living room on the first floor, decorated with panelling and a fireplace. A chimney tumbler in the adjacent cabinet, accompanied by panelling and parquet, is also protected. These elements were recorded by ministerial decree on September 25, 1980, highlighting their heritage value.
The hotel is located on 19 rue du Parlement, an address confirmed by Merimée bases and GPS coordinates. Although the practical information on current visits or uses (rents, guest rooms) is not specified in the available sources, its status as a Historic Monument makes it an important testimony of the architectural heritage of the Dolois and Jurassian.
