Origin and history

Hotel des Amazones is a historic monument located in Arles, in the Bouches-du-Rhône department, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Although his period of construction was not specified, he was recognized for his facades, which were listed as Historic Monuments by order of 4 October 1932. His official address, according to the Mérimée base, is 29 rue des Arenes, although GPS coordinates also suggest 18 rue des Arenes.

Arles, the emblematic city of Provence, has long been a cultural and economic crossroads. Private hotels, such as the Amazon Hotel, often reflect the importance of local elites and their role in urban life. These buildings, by their architecture and location, bear witness to the social and economic evolution of the region throughout the centuries.
