Origin and history
The Hôtel des Trésoriers de la Sainte-Chapelle de Bourges, located in the Cher department, is a medieval monument dating back to the first quarter of the 15th century. Today, only its portal is preserved, marking the entrance to the old mansion. An erased inscription, still partially legible, attested that Arnoul Belin, the first treasurer of the Palais de Bourges, had ordered its construction in 1418 for himself and his successors. This building illustrates the administrative and financial importance of the city, then capital of Berry and the seat of royal institutions such as the Sainte-Chapelle.
The portal, the only preserved element, was registered as a historical monument by order of 17 February 1928. This protection specifically concerns the entrance façade, located at 1 avenue Henri-Ducrot (formerly Avenue Séraucourt). The monument, although partially disappeared, remains a rare testimony of bourgeois civil architecture of the late Middle Ages in Bourges. Its current condition does not allow a visit, but its location in the city centre, near the marshes of the Yèvre, makes it a point of local heritage interest.
No information is available on the subsequent use of the hotel after the 15th century, nor on any architectural changes before its partial disappearance. The site is now reduced to its portal, without any known cultural or tourist assignment. Sources refer to "a priori satisfactory" localization accuracy (level 6/10), without further detail on its immediate environment or integration into the current urban fabric.
