Origin and history

Hotel Tassin de Montcour is an 18th-century mansion located in Orléans, Loiret department. It illustrates the neo-classical style applied to Orlean private architecture. Neighbor of the Hotel Tassin de Villiers, it is located at 3 rue Bretonnerie, in an emblematic district of the city.

The building now belongs to the Loiret County Council, which uses it to house certain administrative services and as a reception place. It was listed as a historical monument in 2015, and was classified in 2025, protecting the entire hotel, its courtyard, outbuildings and garden.

The architect Pierre-Adrien Pâris is associated with this monument, although its exact role is not specified in the sources. The building bears witness to the influence of local elites in Orléan urban planning in the Enlightenment century, with particular attention to the harmony of facades and the organization of interior spaces.

The 2025 classification covers the entire estate, including cadastral plots and landscape elements, highlighting its heritage importance. The hotel is also linked to the Tassin family, a notable line of the region, although the details of their occupation of the place remain unclear in the available sources.
