Origin and history
The house of the canonines, located on Rue de la Sainte-Chapelle in Bourbon-l'Archambault (Allier, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes), is an old outbuilding of the Dukes of Bourbon castle. Dating from the 16th century, it is known as the house of Chanoine. Its architecture includes a cellar, a common kitchen on the ground floor, two bedrooms and an adjacent kitchen on the first floor, as well as an attic with chevron frame. An outdoor staircase turret and a posterior appentis complete the set.
The house was listed as historical monuments by order of 9 December 1929. This ranking reflects its heritage importance, linked to the history of the Dukes of Bourbon and the local religious organization. The building reflects the domestic and social uses of the period, combining residential functions and seigneurial outbuildings.
No additional information is available on its occupants or its precise use beyond its ducal dependency status. The precise location (12 rue de la Sainte-Chapelle) and its Insee code (03036) confirm its anchoring in the Bourbon heritage.
