Origin and history

The house in Uzès, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, is a historical monument that would have belonged to the Knights of Raffin. Its facades on courtyard, although poorly preserved, present notable architectural details. The exterior door, established in a prominent angle, is distinguished by a stereotomy with biased cuts and a frame composed of alternatively flat and bossed harpsichords. The splits draw crossettes that extend to the lateral pilasters, while the bosses appear to have been made in hopper.

The vantals of the door, old and composed of large panels, are assembled by lozenged nails. They are equipped with wrought iron handles and cast copper dusters representing leonin masks. These elements, as well as the door itself, have been protected by an inscription under the Historical Monuments since 13 May 1954.

The location of this monument, at 21 rue du Docteur-Jean-Blanchard in Uzès, is approximate, with an accuracy estimated at 6 out of 10. The property now belongs to a private company, and its access to the public is not specified in the available sources.
