Origin and history

La Maison du Miel, founded in 1898, settled around 1930 on the ground floor of a 19th century building, rue Vignon in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. This trade is distinguished by its carved wood front, painted in false marble and gold, embellished with bas-reliefs representing bees on a backdrop of sun. Although the interior has no exceptional heritage interest, the store has retained its original function until today.

The front, protected by an order of 23 May 1984, illustrates the craftsmanship and know-how of the commercial signs of the early twentieth century. The building, owned by a private company, embodies the legacy of the small specialized Parisian shops, typical of this time. The location, noted as "a priori satisfactory" (level 6/10), confirms its anchoring in the urban landscape of the neighborhood.

Classified as a historic monument for its front, the Maison du Miel bears witness to the importance attached to the preservation of architectural and decorative elements related to the economic and social history of Paris. Its official address, 24 rue Vignon, and its code Insee (75109) place it precisely in the district of Grands Boulevards, an area marked by a dense commercial activity since the 19th century.
