Origin and history

Villa Robinson, also known as Villa Flé, is a house built in 1894 by architect Marcel Louis Bonnier for the Brussels composer and poet Georges Flé. Located in Ambleteuse, it is inspired by English cottages and Norman seaside architecture, with an aesthetic use of apparent building elements. The unsymmetric plan of the villa separates the service spaces (North and East) from the living rooms (South and West), widely open towards the sea.

The villa was a place of artistic encounters in the early twentieth century. After the death of Georges Flé, it was acquired by Mr Lefèvre, who lived there until 1980 and decorated several pieces of ceramics. Abandoned and burned, it was bought in 1986 by André Willerval. Bonnier's youthful work, influenced by Viollet-le-Duc, is distinguished by its pitchpin interior and Norman architectural references.

Classified as a Historic Monument in 2001, the villa is fully protected. Its history reflects both its past cultural role and the transformations experienced through the owners. The protected elements include the entire house, according to the Registration Order of April 26, 2001.
