Origin and history

The house of Daniel Bord is a bubble house located in Festes-et-Saint-André, Aude, Occitanie region. Built by its owner, architect Daniel Bord, it is inspired by the advice of Hungarian habitologist Antti Lovag. The set consists of eleven bubbles, located at the place called Le Magre, on plots D 494 to 500. This project illustrates an organic and futuristic approach to habitat, typical of the architectural experiments of the 1970s-1990s.

The building was listed as historic monuments by order of 17 July 2023. This recognition protects all eleven bubbles, as well as their interior and exterior fittings, highlighting their exceptional heritage value. The bubble house of Daniel Bord bears witness to a collaboration between a local architect and an international theorist, marking the history of unconventional architecture in France.

The site, located at approximately 1 Le Magre, 11300 Festes-et-Saint-André, enjoys precise legal protection, delimited on a plan annexed to the registration order. Although the practical information about its visit or current use (guest rooms, rental) is not detailed in the sources, its status as a historical monument guarantees its preservation for future generations.
