Origin and history

The church of Chevrières, located in the Loire department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, is a 16th-century religious building. This monument, whose location is estimated as "a priori satisfactory", has been included in the inventory of Historical Monuments since 8 July 1933 by ministerial decree. Today it belongs to the commune of Chevrières, identified by the code Insee 42062.

In the 16th century, rural churches like Chevrières played a central role in the lives of local communities. They served not only as a place of worship, but also as a gathering point for social and administrative events. In the region, where the economy was mainly agricultural and artisanal, these buildings often reflected the importance of Christianity in the daily organization and cohesion of villages.
