Origin and history

The building at 1 rue de la Harelle in Château-Gontier has been a monument listed as a Historic Monument since 7 March 1952. Only its street façade, including a turret and a scald, as well as the corresponding roof slope, are protected. The building illustrates a local architectural heritage preserved for its distinctive elements, typical of the old urban buildings of the region.
