Origin and history

The building located in the 12th course of the Red Hat in Bordeaux is a building representative of civil architecture of the second half of the 18th century. Built at the end of this century, it consists of a ground floor, a basement and three floors, with a shooting balcony that highlights the elegance of its first floor. This type of building reflects the urban development of Bordeaux, then in full economic expansion thanks to the maritime and wine trade.

Ranked a Historic Monument since 1935, the building is protected for its facades and roofs, reflecting the heritage importance attached to this architectural style. The accuracy of its location is considered "a priori satisfactory", and its exact address is documented in the Merimée database. Although the sources do not mention its current use, its structure and location suggest a residential or prestigious vocation, typical of Bordeaux private hotels of the time.

The protection of the building by order of 7 October 1935 underlines its historical and aesthetic value. The protected elements, namely facades and roofs, are characteristic of bourgeois constructions of the period, where ornamentation and symmetry played a central role. No information is available on any owners, architects or major events related to this specific building.
