Facades and roofs: inscription by decree of 28 March 1936

Origin and history

The building in Phalsbourg, in the department of Moselle (Great East Region), is a monument whose facades and roofs were inscribed under the title of Historical Monuments by order of 28 March 1936. Its official address, according to the Merimée base, is 201 rue du Maréchal-Foch, although GPS coordinates suggest a nearby location on the 14th of the same street. This type of building reflects local civil architecture, typical of the cities of Lorraine.

In Phalsburg, as in other Mosellan municipalities, the buildings of that time were often linked to the economic and social activity of the region, marked by a border history and an influence both French and German. Architectural protections, such as that of 1936, aim to preserve this heritage representative of past urban dynamics.
