Origin and history
The Church of Saint James is a Catholic church located in La Bosse, in the Sarthe department, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. This religious monument, typical of local buildings, is part of the architectural landscape of the village of La Bosse. Its inscription in the title of historical monuments, effective since 7 December 1939, reflects its heritage importance and the desire to preserve this place of worship.
In the Sarthe, as in many French regions, parish churches played a central role in the lives of local communities. They served not only as a place of prayer and spiritual gathering, but also as a framework for social and cultural events. The Church of Saint-Jacques, by its inscription to the heritage, illustrates this historical function and continues to mark the identity of the village of La Bosse.
