Church: by decree of 5 May 1930

Origin and history

The church of Fontenay-Torcy is a religious monument located in the municipality of the same name, in the department of Oise (60), in the Hauts-de-France region. Classified as a Historical Monument by order of 5 May 1930, it is now owned by the municipality. Its exact location, 6 Street of the Church, is documented in the Merimée base, with a location deemed satisfactory (note 7/10).

Churches of this type, in the villages of Picardie, played a central role in community life over the centuries. They served not only as a place of worship, but also as a gathering point for social, political and cultural events. Their architecture and preservation often reflect local history, craft traditions and demographic changes in the region.

In Fontenay-Torcy, as elsewhere, these buildings symbolize the rural and religious heritage shared by successive generations.
